I’m 61 and see changes happening, some of which I wish weren’t happening. I just haven’t know how to accept them.

The doctor said to my mother, ” You don’t need to worry about her health. She’ll recover just fine. We do need to think about how this impacts her view of herself, since she is nearing her teenage years, and might need to consider plastic surgery.” Yes, the scar was very visible and yes, people asked me about it, but I was not ashamed of it. Even at a young age, I realized it was a part of me and I felt if someone did not like me because of a scar, then they were probably not the kind of person I wanted to know, anyway. I never had the plastic surgery the doctor recommended and I’ve always felt the experience helped make me a stronger person.

It is something I always need. I love the imperfections in others and in many things but it’s hardest to appreciate them in myself. Thank you.

We need to be accepting of our bodies and minds as they are. Self-love must come first.
Loving Bella Grace just as it is! Perfection!
