It\u2019s been my experience that you can nearly always enjoy things if you make up your mind\u00a0firmly &#8230; Oh, look, there\u2019s one little early wild rose out! Isn\u2019t it lovely? Don\u2019t you think it must be glad to be a rose?\u201d <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In moments of particular hardship, I often picture Anne, well aware of her ill fate, yet determined to celebrate the beauty surrounding her.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s another little girl I think of too. Her name is Sara Crewe and among the pages of &#8220;<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Little Princess<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,&#8221; <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">her optimistic spirit has touched millions of readers all\u00a0around the world. Banished and without a cent to her name, she reminded us, <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSomehow, something always h<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">appens <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">just before things get to the <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">very <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">worst. It is as if<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0M<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">agic did it. If I could only just remember that always. The worse thing <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">never quite <\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">comes.\u201d<\/span><\/i><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The only certainty regarding unforeseen circumstance is that it is likely to meet us <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">throughout our lives. However, navigating these twists in the road is made easier with<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the turn of a page \u2014 with a peek inside the stories of courageous, resilient heroines. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0When the midnight stars were at their dimmest, they sought out magic and where they did not find it, they created their own. In their own words, these are pieces of inspiration we can carry in our hearts when experiencing our own versions of Anne\u2019s carriage ride to the orphanage or Sara\u2019s nights in the attic.
